3H Rafid Zuhayer Amin (31)

The Service Learning has made a huge impact in my life. On my service learning, we had to keep an eye on the elderly while they were exercising. Some of us also tried to follow them in exercising. While we were exercising, we tried to interact with the elderly. They were very friendly. Even though I could not communicate with them, I just smiled and tried my best to communicate with them in some way. After half an hour of exercising, the elderly stopped exercising and we served them some drinks and muffins. As being the leader for that day, I went around taking pictures. From the service learning, I realised that not all elderly have family members looking after them. Most of them are lonely and the elderly care centre is a great place for the elderly to come and interact with other elderly. Also the exercise day helps elderly to stay fit. Most of the elderly seemed to be excited for the exercise day and all of them enjoyed it. This shows that even though they are old, they still want to stay active. I hope to go there again and help the elderly in some way again in the future!
